Waban is Recipient of Kennebunk Savings Community Promise Donation


Waban received $2,280 as part of the Kennebunk Savings Community Promise which will be used to support Waban’s programs promoting the general welfare and education of children and adults with intellectual/developmental or other disabilities. Waban is one of several area organizations to receive a donation from the Community Ballot. (read more)

Banks Unite
for New Autism Wing at Waban’s Fraser-Ford Child Development Center

SANFORD, ME – On July 28, SIS Bank and Kennebunk Savings joined hands to partner with Waban to address Autism. These would-be competitors matched donations of $100,000 each to kick off a capital campaign for a new Autism Therapy Wing to be added to the Fraser-Ford Child Development Center on Route 4 in Sanford.

TREE Center Connects With Earth Science Students


SANFORD – Over 330 students in grades 3 through 5 and the local home-school group were treated to an exciting and close-up look at the geosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and atmosphere, “Earth’s Connected Systems,” the theme for this year’s Earth Science Week celebrations, October 12-18. Since October 1998, the American Geosciences Institute has organized this national and international event to help the public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth Sciences and to encourage stewardship of the Earth.

Dennis ByrdWaban Welcomes Dennis D. Byrd to the Board of Directors.
Dennis is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Kennebunk Savings. He has over 29 years of experience in Maine banking, joined Kennebunk Savings in 2007 as Chief Information Officer after working at Eagle Bank in Everett, Massachusetts where he was Senior Vice President of Risk Management.  Prior to his work a
t Eagle Bank, Dennis was a founding officer and Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Rivergreen Bank in Kennebunk.  He also has had held key management roles with both Coastal Savings Bank and Norway Savings Bank.

D
ennis is a graduate of Andover College in Portland where he earned a degree in Accounting. He has been on the Board at Wells Reserve at Laudholm as Treasurer since 2008 and has volunteered at the Day of Caring with the United Way of York County.  He is a Gorham, Maine resident.

WABAN BOWL-A-THON 2014  Owen Martin hosted the WABAN Bowl-A-Thon at his Bowl-A-Rama again this year on Wednesday, March 5th 4:15pm to 7:00pm.  It was a fun night of bowling that helped the children of WABAN's Fraser/Ford Child Development Center!!
