This Benefits Summary is provided to give you an overview of our various benefits programs.

Vacation, Sick, and Personal Days

Waban believes that employees should have opportunities to enjoy time off from work to help balance their lives.  Waban recognizes that employees have diverse needs for time off from work.  Waban has established this paid time off (VACATION, SICK and PERSONAL) policy to meet those needs.  The policy contains provisions for vacation time, sick leave and personal day(s). One of the benefits of VACATION, SICK and PERSONAL paid time off system is that it promotes a straight-forward approach to time off – employees are accountable and responsible for managing their own VACATION, SICK and PERSONAL hours to allow for adequate reserves if there is a need to cover vacation, illness or disability, appointments, emergencies, or other needs that require time off from work.


Employees receive 9 paid holidays each calendar year.


Waban pays 90% of the single subscriber rate for 30 - 40 hour per week employees. Employee can elect dependent/family coverage by payroll deduction (Waban pays the 50% of the total rate; employee pays the other 50%).


Waban pays 75% of the employee only rate for 30 - 40/hour per week employees. Employee can elect dependent / family coverage by payroll deduction.


Waban pays for employee life insurance policy equal to $25,000 for eligible employees, plus a $25,000 accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Employees may purchase supplemental insurance for themselves and their family members.


Waban pays for short-term disability insurance (40 hour/week employees only).  30 plus hour employees may purchase (long and/or short term) disability insurance.


Employee can begin to contribute immediately to a 403(b) plan. Once an employee becomes eligible, there is a discretionary employer match at the end of the calendar year. Eligible employees must be at least 21 years of age, employed with Waban for one year, and work at least 1,000 hours/year.


Employee Assistance Program – EAP is a confidential assessment and referral program, fully paid by the agency.


Waban has partnered with local businesses to offer employee discounts on home heating fuel and buying a new vehicle to name a few.


Waban provides paid training and development opportunities based on individual needs and as required by the position.

Student Loans Waban's status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization may qualify you for Federal Student Loan Forgiveness
