SANFORD, Maine – March 16, 2019 marks Waban’s 48th annual Telethon to raise funds for children with autism, intellectual/developmental and other disabilities. Telethon funds raised will benefit the new state-of-the-art Autism Therapy Wing at the Fraser Ford Child Development Center in Sanford, which brings together teachers, case workers, clinical support and staff dedicated to children who need specialized programs and services.

The Telethon brings the community together at the St. Ignatius Gym at 25 Riverside Avenue in Sanford. Doors open at 10am for a full day of family entertainment, delicious food, exciting raffles, gift baskets and activities for the whole family. Throughout the day, participants can choose from a wide selection of goods that includes merchandise and other donations from local vendors. Items include furniture from Central Furniture, a stand-up paddle board from Kittery Trading Post, various sports memorabilia and tickets, as well as gift certificates for travel and restaurants, an Apple Watch and Amazon’s Alexa.

This year offers a new exciting way to tune in and participate, live-streamed from the Waban website at www.waban.org  and it will also be broadcast through Atlantic Broadband and simulcast on The Legends 102.3 FM and AM1220.
